Manually adding Products

Product Name

The Product Name is the primary search field so it’s important to have words and phrases that your customers will use to search for product to purchase.

In the sample product the Product Name is composed of Year Make Model Category and ItemNumber. This way a customer can search 1995 Toyota Camry Direct Fit or Direct Fit Catalytic Converter to go directly to what they are wanting to purchase. Likewise you can search by ItemNumber TOY3213D-A.

Product Description

This will be the same as your existing database Description field. Because we were so limited 25 years ago when we designed the existing database your Description field was very limited. Now it would be much better to have much longer and more descriptive Product Descriptions so adding new products bear this in mind. Initially we will just import existing Description to the Product Description and Short Description.

Product Data

General tab

Regular price: The price your customer will pay.

Inventory tab

SKU: WooCommerce will automatically assign this on the initial import.

You don’t do inventory control so all fields can remain dfault.

Shipping tab

Enter Dimensions – Weight,Length, Width and Height

Shipping class: This will set the Freight Charge. ThreeFive will charge the customer $35 shipping per item.

Linked Products tab

This will be assigned automatically by WooCommerce unless you assign them manually.

Attributes, Advanced and Get more tab

Skip. These fields are used for complex products that require selections like size, color, etc.

Click to add/edit the product image

Click Upload and browse locally on your computer for the product image jpg.

Product categories

Select one ie. Direct Fit Catalytic Converters Note!!! to get better SEO not Direct Fit Converter. There are millions of different Converters but Catalytic Converters are specific to your products!

Product tags

This field is for Search Engine Keywords. Use things like Manufacturer(DEC), Product Category( Direct Fit Catalytic Converters)

This is secondary to Product Name for search engines!

Click Publish/Update at top of right column to save

As a new WordPress user, you should go to your dashboard to delete this page and create new pages for your content. Have fun!
