WooCommerce Add-on Products in lieu of Variables where too many Attribues and Variables would slow down the site and Overload the database.

Plugin WooCommerce Product Add Ons

For Field or Field Groups for Entire Product Categories Use WooCommerce>Products>Add-ons

Field Groups is the best way to add product add-ons! Using Field Groups automatically populates add-ons to every product in a Category. Using this method you don't have to add each add-on individually to every product in a Category!

Create New>Name>Product Categories>Enter Category name or several Category Names. All Field/Product Options or Group of Fields/Product Options will be added to every Product in the Categories selected.

For Individual Products Choose the Add-ons tab in the Product Data section

Then Add Field button

Add the number of product options you need. Flat Fee price is the amount to add to the base price.

Use the import button to add a field already created for another product of from the main Product>Add-ons. Export from the previously created Field then Import to an individual Product Data>Add-Ons

Detailed Instructions:

Review the Add-Ons already configured so you can see how they are setup.  Go to Products in the Main left nav column and click Add-Ons.  Click one to see what it includes like Cap Size.  Click Cap Size in the next window and the drop down will show existing entries and add-on price increase if there is one.

Best not assign to existing Categories because that will duplicate ones already manually added to individual products.

Note the difference in Hat Size and Cap Size.

To add them to an existing product where it was left off open two browser tabs.  One editing the product the other in the Add-Ons are of the Main left column Products admin.

In the Add-Ons main add-on find the add on you want like Cap Size and click on it.  On the Window that opens you'll see Cap Size Multiple Choice.  Directly above click Export.  A small window pops-up saying successfully copied.

Go to the othr browser tab where you are editing the product and click Add-Ons under the Product data section.  Any Add-Ons already seup will appear.  Click the 3 bar hamburger icon to see their entries.  You can add or delete existing entries.

To Paste the Cap Size you copied from the Main Product Add-Ons section click Import from the top of the Product data Add-Ons .  A small window will pop-up.  Right click in it and Paste then click OK.  After a second or so the Cap Size option should appear.  Drag the hamburger icon at the left end of the Options line to drag it up or down in the order you want to see the customer see them.  I always put Size first.

You can add or delete any single item from any of the options.

*****Always remember to click Update at the top of the right column in the Product Edit page to save any changes or additions to the product or they will be LOST*****
